About KEN
The Kanata Environmental Network (KEN) is a volunteer-run organization in the community of Kanata, Ontario. We share information about practical, ecologically-friendly solutions with Kanata residents, and work towards a green and healthy future for all.

KEN has a Core Team of eight people. The positions include:
- co-chairs (two) - one co-chair position is open at present
- membership and treasurer
- website and email list management
- communications and event advertising
We have a monthly KEN Core Team meeting on the last Wednesday of the month. The core team positions are filled in September and run through to the following September, with a two month break in the summer.
KEN is 100% volunteer run. We keep our expenses low and we are mostly supported by a ten-dollar, annual KEN membership. In the past, we have had some funding from the City of Ottawa, and we are grateful for the generosity of some local organizations and businesses listed on our SPONSOR page.
Our events are open to the public and are usually free. We advertise our events through our email list and in the local media. We limit our emails to two or three a month. You do not need to be a member to be on the email list. Occasionally, we run some small, fun events for members. If you would like support KEN and become a member, visit our MEMBER page.
If you would like to volunteer, either on the KEN Core Team or as an occasional volunteer, please contact info@kanataenvironmentalnetwork.com.
Approximately 400 area residents are on KEN's mailing list for local event news
